Bio

Hyojin Yim is a PhD student at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. Her research focuses on immigrant and racialized children in Canada who face structural barriers in accessing and navigating social service systems, and how these barriers generate cumulative life-course inequalities. Her work examines how institutional structures and policy environments shape the conditions under which marginalized children and families seek, access, and experience support across generations. Hyojin holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary and a Master of Social Welfare from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea.
