Bio

Andre Laylor is a PhD Candidate in Social Justice Education in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies from York University and Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. 

 Andre has over 7 years of experience as a child protection investigation and Family Service Worker in Toronto, Ontario. He has also taught courses about the child welfare system and immigration studies in Canada.

 Andre’s research interests are in anti-Black racism, child welfare, colonialism, neoliberalism, anti-colonial interventions, and resistance movements.
